Part I
Consciousness
A nice name for a state of mind where thoughts overthink, calculating comfort into existence—not enlightenment, not a crown, just the static of a machine that can’t stop asking what’s missing. Warps love into emotions.
See also: hungry ghost, hedonic treadmill, dungeon of decision, attention siphon
The Whitewash
A sophisticated alibi for a state of perpetual wanting. Invented to glamorize the fact that we are possessed by thought rather than inhabited by love.
See also: alibi, false idol, honeypot, the veneer, buzzword, misinformation
Medical (Literal)
Awake. Not knocked out. Responsive. “Is he conscious?” means “did he come to, does he know his name?” He gained consciousness after smelling ammonia spirits. The rest is markup.
Depths of Consciousness: Confusion → Lethargy → Obtundation → Stupor → Coma → Persistent Vegetative State
Philosophy
“The awareness of what it’s like”—the feeling of being something. Qualia, sentience, phenomenal consciousness, panpsychism, apperception. Words describing words describing the experience of having experiences. The snake eating its tail and calling it depth.
The Split
Philosophy sells the crown. Medicine bills for the pulse check.
The Three Installations
Conscious: the narrator that replaced the soul
Conscience: the judge that replaced God
Con of Science: the authority that replaced instinct
DidYouKnow — Consciousness is the word they use to deny the soul without saying “we deny the soul.”
God
The Boss of the Bible—the one who made himself and everything else. Watching over humans with love and judgment. The spaceless, timeless, omniscient, omnipotent, omnipresent source of all reality—with a face and mood swings.
Accomplishments
Created light before the sun. Made Adam out of dirt. Added a talking snake. Killed 70,000 to punish one. Sent his son to die to pay himself back. Burns you forever if you don’t believe.
The Pattern
Creates problems. Blames creation. Punishes forever. Takes credit for mercy.
The Twist
Hates the religion that promotes him.
“I hate, I despise your religious festivals; your assemblies are a stench to me.” — Amos 5:21-24
Other Traditions
Tao (the way), Ein Sof (the infinite), Mu (nothingness), The One, Ka (vital spark), Om (primordial vibration). No being. No character. No face. No story. No body count.
The Fine Print
The word “God”—with a face, a story, accomplishments, and punishments—exists because of the Bible. No book, no God.
Wanting (Desire/Need)
The original food for thought. The engine that brings consciousness online. What makes man a bitch—keeps the mind in a submissive kneel, begging for a future scenario instead of standing in the current one.
Thought is out of sync because it can imagine what ISN’T here. Animals respond to what’s in front of them. Humans respond to what they THINK might happen. Fear of future. Want of something else.
See also: the gnaw, the itch, the hungry ghost, cognitive drag, sad stillborn
The Fall
The instant man broke, the first want (dodge death by killing to live). Still falling. Still flailing. Refusing the recall. Turned the mind into a weapon pointed at reality. Replaced Instinct (Trust) with Calculation (Fear).
See also: the front, the hall pass, the lost state, the grind, the psyop, snake with tits, misplaced in time, the broken wheel, the brutal rhythm, the terraform
Love
The life-force used for creation. Base operational state when wanting is offline. The most potent and finite energy there is—keeps the organism attuned to what is.
See also: the glue, umwelt attunement, God’s Wi-Fi, the default, instinctive equilibrium, native alignment, symbiotic innocence, vital continuum
Free Will
The ability to choose out of alignment—or extend within it. Same capacity, two directions. One fork: wanting, calculation, survival hacks. Other fork: create, love, play.
Free will is the fork.

Truth / Proof
Words that block what they claim to reveal—the finger that hides the moon. If you hunt “truth” or demand “proof,” you’ve left direct seeing and entered consciousness. Reality simply IS. Only narratives require validation.
See also: the finger, the hunt, the stunt, map vs territory, the validation, the tease, fake boobs
Knowledge / Intelligence
Stored calculations and the speed you run them; powerful tools, not enlightenment. Intelligence refines extraction and solves survival-problems—it sharpens instruments and cushions reality, it rarely heals or aligns.
See also:
Dams (engineering marvels that kill rivers)
Factory farming (efficient extraction, mass suffering)
Pesticides (solve one problem, create ten more)
Social media algorithms (sophisticated engineering that harvests attention, destroys mental health)
Planned obsolescence (smart design made to break so you buy again)
Nuclear (peak intelligence, peak destruction)
Financial instruments (complex calculations that crash economies)
Medicine (creating side effects that require more medicine)
Climate control (comfort now, planet pays later)
Civilization itself (accumulated knowledge forcing land beyond carrying capacity)
Part II
Belief / Faith
The gap-filler. What consciousness invents when it can’t stand not knowing. Thought dressed as reality. A guess promoted to gospel.
Faith is belief that won’t quit—keeps running even when the road ends.
See also: the guess that stayed, the certainty costume, the gap-filler, driving miss doubtfire, the rendering engine, the doughnut, blame it on amen
Lie / Honesty
Lie: consciousness spinning a narrative that diverges from the territory, forcing the system to run on false input and blocking repair. Honesty: the narrative matched to the world—not a moral ornament but mechanical alignment; when inside equals outside, the system functions.
Easier to work with a predator than a liar. The predator is a known variable. The liar is an unknown variable in a friendly mask.
Mass shooter surrenders, gets Burger King, lives. Man selling loose cigarettes, friction, dies on the sidewalk. The system doesn’t weigh what you did. It weighs how you respond when caught. Compliance is legible. Friction gets crushed.
See also: Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, yin and yang, he/she vs they/them, effects vs side effects, SO vs WHAT
Hope
Admitting now isn’t enough. Consciousness projecting want into future and waiting for external conditions to fix it. To hope is to validate lack—if this moment was sufficient, you wouldn’t need to hope for another one. Instinct acts; hope postpones.
See also: Obama’s gonna pay my bills, hope/dream = dope/fiend, the white pope, the carrot, the lottery, the waiting room, tomorrow, the trailer, the wishbone
Gratitude
Receipt for a transaction you didn’t know you were in. Consciousness recognizing it got something it wanted, implying it was lacking before. Can’t be grateful for what you already have in operational sense—only for what fills a perceived gap. When wanting is offline, things just are.
The coffin stretch joke: “Every day I wake up, stretch my arms, and don’t feel that coffin—I thank the Lord.”—Gratitude as mask over despair.
Forgiveness
Consciousness releasing a grievance it manufactured by taking something personally. A calculated unburdening: the decision that holding the wound costs more than letting it go. Proof the offense lived as story, not present threat. Animals don’t forgive because they don’t keep grudges; instinct responds to now, not past narrative.
Exhibit A: “Forgive them, Father, for they do not know what they do.” What are they implying—that God takes things personally? One of these books is wrong.
See also: the tell, gospel glitch, scripture’s slip, the holy leak, canon crack, testament’s tell, the sacred seam, cross examination
Empathy
Feeling someone else’s feelings so now two people feel bad. Consciousness mirroring another’s state, duplicating suffering instead of resolving it. Instinct responds to need without running the simulation first.
See also: COVID, hypercondri-phobia, catching feelings, secondhand feelings, emotional identity drift
Self-Love
Consciousness attempting to manufacture positive regard for the ego it invented. The “self” that needs loving is a constructed target; self-love often becomes consciousness directing emotion back at its own story. In true love/instinct there’s no self to love—only function, unreferenced.
See also: emotional incest, internal affair, closed circuit, self-pollination, feedback loop, ego daycare, so selfie, autoerotic inner PR
Healing
The narrative consciousness tells about returning to wholeness; often the same mechanism that broke it trying to fix it. The body heals automatically—you don’t manage it. Psychological “healing” is consciousness processing consciousness-made trauma with more consciousness. Therapy loop. The wound and the treatment are the same mechanism.
See also: scar subscription, pain pension, trauma tour, professional victim, pain cosplay, hurt hustle, bruise branding, ache equity, trauma timeshare, therapeutic hamster wheel, recovery theater
Happiness
Dopamine’s “got it” flag. A reward signal, not a destination. Consciousness mistakes the burst for the goal and chases it until the mechanism breaks.
See also: dopamine rental, joy debt, serotonin layaway, temporary clearance, feeling forgery, grin maintenance, glee on credit, cheer veneer, emotional payday loan, chemical bribery, brain candy, internal applause track, joy laundering
Care
Investment in a specific outcome; consciousness wanting a particular result and generating anxiety about it not happening. Caring creates the worry it claims to solve. Can also be escape disguised as compassion—some people adopt causes the way addicts adopt substances. Love responds without caring about outcomes. Self-avoidance responds by caring about everything except self.
See also: concern cosplay, soft surveillance, velvet leash, help tax, gentle grip, hover service, help hostage, nurture noose, smother subscription, padded cage, cozy chains, tender collar, gentle ransom, worry theater
Compassion
Consciousness’s staged approximation of love: notice suffering, simulate feeling, calculate response. Three steps where love needs none. The poor man’s version of serving—useful at times, but derivative.
See also: empathy decaf, dry rescue, rubber glove love, hurt-curious, remote rescue, lifeguard on shore, soul sightseeing, hazmat hug, pain safari, drive-by saint, suffering sommelier, wound window-shopping, mercy from bleachers, help from orbit
Part III
Mindfulness
Consciousness watching consciousness: a technique that stages presence by adding an observer/observed split. It’s still consciousness operating; true presence is what remains when that loop goes quiet. Animals are present without training.
See also: mental mall cop, mind HOA, ego referee, brain bureaucracy, now jail, present parole, mental meter maid, present tense prison, internal TSA, brain hall monitor, consciousness cubicle, now middle management, ego HR, moment micromanagement
Higher Self
Instinct mislabeled. When direct knowing breaks through, consciousness can’t let it be simple—it invents a “higher self” to explain and own the signal. The experience may be real (instinct surfacing); the corruption is personifying it, naming it, creating a new dependency to access what was already there.
See also: spirit CEO, attic alias, me VIP, soul catfish, self-gentrification, imaginary upgrade, potential Ponzi, inner franchise, ego penthouse, premium me, instinct IPO, authentic™, soul markup, consciousness country club, divine disguise, boutique being
Play the Victim
Consciousness framing itself as wronged to evade responsibility and extract sympathy or control. Weaponizes helplessness: powerless identity that paradoxically gives power through moral positioning. Converts grievance into leverage. Instinct responds to what happened without building identity around being wronged.
See also: yellin’ cuss words ’cause the hose is tangled up, WiFi welfare, universe targeting, cosmic bullying, reality harassment, physics grudge, circumstance assault, existence lawsuit, fate feud, inanimate enemies, furniture conspiracy, stubbed toe vendetta, targeted by Tuesday, tangled injustice, swearing at string
Destiny
Consciousness stitching a script where the future is prewritten and meaningful. The ego prefers a tidy plot to messy responsiveness. Relabels wins as “meant to be,” losses as “not your destiny”—converting wanting into cosmic excuse, attributing outcomes to plan instead of owning them. Instinct responds to what appears, no plot required.
See also: script entitlement, life spoilers, existence screenplay, cosmic reservation, meaning futures, forward narcissism, plot insurance
Fate
The belief that outcomes are fixed regardless of action; a consciousness alibi that nulls agency by declaring events inevitable. Unlike destiny (which scripts meaning), fate simply strips responsibility—a resignation story that lets you avoid acting or owning consequences.
See also: fixed fiction, outcome costume, written in excuse, pre-written alibi, backward blame, tomorrow’s receipt
Purpose
A consciousness-made answer to “why am I here?”; animals don’t ask it, instinct just acts. It outfits existence with a grand mission and turns presence into pursuit—find purpose, fulfill purpose, live purposefully—basically wanting dressed as meaning.
See also: why addiction, reason ransom, meaning mortgage, significance speculation, cosmic reservation, existence screenplay, meaning futures, life lien
Legacy
Consciousness projecting past death to control how future minds remember you; the ego trying to survive mortality through reputation, artifacts, and stories. It warps present choices into imagined future judgments—“Will I be remembered?” reveals the ego’s fear of erasure. Instinct finishes the job and has no stake in posterity.
See also: fame layaway, obituary draft, death résumé, grave marketing, posthumous ego, memory real estate, historical audition, afterlife PR, significance escrow
Willpower
Consciousness coercing itself: the effort to do X while everything says Y. Sets mind against mind, generates exhaustion, and reveals a dependence on self-force disguised as strength. If aligned, no override needed. Instinct acts without internal war.
See also: cope override, no cap resolve, internal arm wrestling, ego enforcement, self-taser, brute force login, soul strongarm, mental martial law, inner drill sergeant, motivation mortgage, self-hostage negotiation, grind cosplay, bootstrap chokehold, struggle credit
Competitiveness
Consciousness building hierarchies out of comparison; the ego’s need to win as proof of value. It turns action into a status contest where worth equals rank and winning validates being—an anxiety loop: win to prove, lose and identity trembles. Animals fight for resources; humans fight for reputation.
See also: extraction mode, zero-sum delusion, rank addiction, podium dependency, trophy withdrawal, status cardio, ego leaderboard, bronze panic, alpha theater, hierarchy hunger, defeat allergy, better-than banking, silver shame, ranking rash, worths scoreboard, participation horror
I Didn’t Mean To
Consciousness divorcing action from responsibility: an intention-as-alibi that shields the ego from impact. The act still occurred; privileging inner intent won’t erase the external effect. Instinct doesn’t plead—action happens, consequence follows.
See also: trauma reaction from a mad parent. Same trick: intention alibi, accident costume, oops insurance, consequence divorce, intent > impact, action orphan, blame refund, flinch defense
The Universe Has a Plan
Consciousness projecting intentionality onto existence; a cosmic-planner alibi that swaps responsibility for comfort. When randomness or suffering lands, the ego invents a grand designer so pain becomes “meant to be” rather than consequence. Instinct simply responds to what appears—no script required.
See also: cosmic planner cope, sky manager, divine itinerary, celestial screenplay, master plan cope, suffering screenplay, designer disaster, chaos coverup, puppet comfort, providence propaganda, pain has a point™, outsourced meaning
Part IV
Everybody Makes Mistakes / Nobody’s Perfect
The universal-excuse maneuver: when ego is threatened it dissolves a specific failure into shared human fallibility. Neutralizes responsibility by reframing error as inevitable instead of addressable. Often loudest from those whose patterns left the most damage—smuggling deliberate lies under the “mistake” label. Instinct responds or doesn’t—no excuse required.
See also: legitimate use—felt bad about something on your own, not because you got caught. Violation use: sin smuggler, error laundering, pattern pardon, human card, deliberate → mistake pipeline, caught ≠ sorry, the shrug defense
How Are You Doing
A social ritual where consciousness performs caring without actually caring; a scripted exchange that proves the script ran. The asker rarely wants an answer and the responder supplies the approved line (“Fine,” “Good,” “Can’t complain”)—honesty breaks the ritual and forces presence; instinct either genuinely inquires or stays silent.
See also: politeness, manners, script swap, greeting autopilot, fine theater, NPC dialogue, social vending machine, verbal wallpaper, concern karaoke, check-in checkbox, “fine” = firewall, good morning malware, hollow handshake
To Be Honest
The phrase that announces honesty as an exception; by flagging it you imply ordinary talk is suspect. Carves speech into two tiers—everyday statements (truth uncertain) and flagged statements (supposedly real). A verbal tic when the ego feels vulnerable. If operating from honesty, no announcement needed.
See also: to be honest means to be frank (honesty as identity, not default — you’re being Frank, a character). Same trick: not gonna lie, real talk™, no lie, if I’m being real, keeping it 100, straight up, honestly though, frankly speaking, authenticity asterisk
Politeness / Manners
Culturally scripted protocols that lubricate social interaction and signal group membership; rules for performing “non-threat.” Prescribe words, gestures, suppression of direct response to maintain hierarchy and decorum. Easily turned into mask. Instinct responds to the actual situation—no script required.
See also: civility costume, decorum disguise, etiquette exoskeleton, pleasantry prison, courtesy choreography, non-threat theater, hierarchy handshake, suppression script, niceness uniform, domestication display, feral filter
Loyalty
Allegiance demanded by consciousness: obligation to uphold person, group, or brand regardless of behavior or truth. Turns fidelity into shield that blocks honest assessment. A lever power uses to lock in support. Instinct responds to what’s actually happening. No oath required.
See also: Big Brother game show, Survivor game show, allegiance autopilot, oath cage, blind badge, tribe trap, brand bondage, ride or die delusion, jersey jail, flag chains, oath hostage, honest-blocker, exit tax
